Books read in 2010

…and the books I read in the last year. Only thirty five books this year, which is down from sixty last year. For some reason that I can’t remember, I read practically nothing in the first seven months of 2010. Maybe I was spending too much time reading blogs.

I made up for it in the last couple of months, however. I’ve taken to reading in iBooks on my iPhone. I think it may replace physical books for me. The phone is always with me. Just as the best camera is the one you have in your pocket when you want to take a photo, the best book is the one I have with me when I have a moment to read.

A highlight of the year was finishing one Rebus book while driving through Guardsbridge on the way home from Dundee, and buying, downloading, and starting reading the next one before we reached St Andrews.

Hopefully the actual driving part of that was in other hands...

Hurrah for John MacNab, a little-known classic!

Oh yes, that’s the other advantage of reading books on a screen — I can read in the dark while Andrew is driving.

I wouldn't know where to start in listing all the books I read in a year. Hmm. I could start now for this year, but not sure I remember them even just a week in. Umm..

After Effects - Catherine Aird
A stitch in Time - Emma Lathen
The Longer the Thread - Emma Lathen
Going For Gold - Emma Lathen
Come to Dust - Emma Lathen
The Family Tree - Sheri S Tepper
The Ghost now standing on Platform One - Anthology

There! I knew I hadn't been reading so much cos I've been knitting the last few days.

Time to start keeping a list!
