Ten years of books
Frogmarch 2002 - Whitby
For ten years now I’ve been keep a note of all the books that I read. Initially this was an exercise to keep me reading books — which I enjoy — when there are too many competing distractions from the internet and from television, but I have also found it useful in planning my reading.

Now I have figures covering a decade of reading, I’ve made a graph breaking my reading down by the sex of the author. Where a book has multiple authors I’ve used the first named.

Not much of a pattern, other than to observe that I enjoy reading through the complete works of various authors, and large numbers of books by authors like PD James, Ngaio Marsh, and Agatha Christie will have contributed to the years where I have read a majority of female authors. This will continue, as I’m planning to work my way through the works of Margery Allingham and Gladys Mitchell in the next couple of years.
